- Please follow the instructions below or watch the video.
- Remove the water tank and capsule container to clean them (see cleaning section).
- Adjust the cable, length and store the excess cable under the machine. Fix the remaining cable in the left or right socket under the water tank, depending on the position of the water tank. Ensure that the machine is in the upright position.
- Plug the machine directly into 220 volt outlet.
- Fill the water tank with fresh drinkable water.
- Place the water tank on its lever and place the drip tray and the capsule container in position.
- "To turn the machine ON, press the espresso, lungo, or hot water button. Blinking lights: heating up (approx. 30 seconds) Steady lights: ready"
- To rinse the machine, place a container (minimum capacity 1 litre) under coffee outlet. Press the lungo button. Repeat 3 times. Press the hot water button. Repeat 2 times.
- To turn the machine OFF before it turns off automatically, press both the espresso and lungo buttons simultaneously (short press - less than 1 second). Alternatively, the machine will turn OFF automatically after 9 minutes of non-use.
- INFO: Factory Settings:
- Espresso: 40 ml
- Lungo: 110 ml
- Americano: 150 ml (25 ml coffee, 125 ml hot water)
- Americano XL: 200 ml (40 ml coffee, 160 ml hot water)
- Hot water: 200 ml

- To turn the machine on, press the espresso, lungo or hot water button. Blinking lights: heating up (approx. 30 seconds). Steady lights: ready.
- Lift the lever completely and insert the capsule.
- Close the lever and place a cup under the coffee outlet. To accommodate a tall recipe glass, remove the drip tray.
- Press the desired beverage button to start. The preparation will stop automatically. To stop the coffee flow at any time, press any beverage button.
- INFO: While the machine is warming up, you can press any beverage button while blinking. The coffee will then flow automatically when the machine is ready.
- INFO: It is recommended to eject any remaining used capsules into the used capsule container before pressing the hot water button.
- WARNING: Never lift the lever during operation and refer to the important safety precautions to avoid possible harm when operating the appliance.

- Please follow the instructions below or watch the video.
- Turn the machine ON and wait for it to be ready (steady lights). Fill the water tank with fresh drinkable water and insert the capsule.
- Place a cup under the coffee outlet. To program espresso and lungo volumes: Press and hold the espresso or lungo button. Release button once the desired volume is served (espresso from 20 to 70 ml and lungo from 70 to 130 ml). The LEDs will blink fast 3 times to confirm the new settings. The water volume level is now stored.
- To program americano and americano XL volumes: press both the espresso (for americano) / or lungo (for americano XL) and hot water buttons simultaneously. Release both buttons once the desired coffee volume is reached (from 20 to 110 ml). Hot water will start flowing automatically. Press the hot water button once the desired water volume is reached (from 25 to 300 ml). LEDs will blink fast 3 times to confirm the new settings.
- To program the hot water volume: press and hold the hot water button until the desired volume is reached (from 50 to 300 ml). LEDs will blink fast 3 times to confirm the new settings.

- INFO: the default factory settings:
- Espresso: 40 ml
- Lungo: 110 ml
- Americano: 150 ml (25 ml coffee, 125 ml hot water)

- The water hardness is set to hard. - With machine turned OFF, press and hold the espresso button for 5 seconds.
- The LED lights will blink fast 3 times to confirm machine has been reset to factory settings. The machine will then switch OFF automatically.
Emptying the system before a period of non-use or before a repair
Emptying the system before a period of non-use or before a repair
- Remove the water tank and open the lever. Place a container under the coffee outlet.
- With the machine turned OFF, press both the espresso and lungo buttons for 5 seconds. All three LEDs blink alternatively.
- The emptying process will begin, and the machine will switch OFF automatically when the procedure is finished.
- Close the lever. Empty and clean the used capsule container, the drip tray and the drip base.
Cleaning

- Please follow the instructions below or watch the video.
- Empty the drip tray, the drip base and the capsule container every day. Also, remove the water tank with its lid and clean them with an odorless detergent and rinse with warm water.
- Dry with a fresh and clean towel, cloth or paper towel and reassemble all parts. Clean the coffee outlet and the outside of the machine regularly with a damp cloth.
- WARNING: Risk of fatal electrical shock and fire. Never immerse the appliance or part of it in water. Be sure to unplug the machine before cleaning. Do not use any strong cleaning agent or solvent cleaner. Do not use sharp objects, brushes or abrasive materials. Do not place in a dishwasher.
Descaling

- INFO: Duration approximately 15 minutes.
Please follow the instructions below or watch the video. - Descale the machine when descaling alert blinks in ready mode.
- Lift and close the lever to eject the capsule into the used capsule container.
- Empty the drip tray, drip base and used capsule container.
- Fill the water tank halfway with fresh drinkable water (approximately 0.5 litre). Pour 1 Nespresso descaling liquid sachet into the water tank.
- Place a container (minimum volume 1 litre) under the coffee outlet.
- To enter the descaling mode, while the machine is turned ON, press the espresso, lungo and hot water buttons for 5 seconds.
- All three LEDs will blink. The descaling alert will remain on during the entire descaling process. To exit the descaling mode at this stage, press either the espresso or lungo button.
- To start the descaling process, press the hot water button and wait until the water tank is empty.
- Empty and rinse the water tank. Fill it with fresh drinkable water up to the max. level.
- When ready, empty the drip base. Repeat steps 5 and 8 to now rinse the machine. Once the water tank is empty, repeat steps 9 and 10.
- When the rinsing cycle has finished, the machine will switch OFF automatically.
- Empty the drip base.
Energy Saving

- Energy efficient: The machine minimizes power use when it's idle. The machine will enter low energy mode after 2 minutes of non-use. After 9 minutes, the machine will turn OFF automatically.
- INFO: The machine is equipped with an energy saving feature. The machine will automatically enter OFF after 9 minutes.
Water Hardness Setting

- Please follow the instructions below or watch the video.
- With the machine turned OFF, press and hold the hot water button for 5 seconds. The beverage buttons will blink to indicate the current setting.
- To change the water hardness settings, press the hot water button as many times until the appropriate level is reached:
- Espresso, Lungo, Hot Water blinking: Hard.
- Espresso, Lungo blinking: Medium.
- Espresso blinking: Soft. - To validate and exit the water hardness setting mode, press either the espresso button or the lungo button.
- INFO: Heavy use of the americano or hot water functions may require more frequent descaling.
- INFO: The water hardness level can be tested with the water hardness stick available on the first page of the user manual.
No light indicator.
- Check the mains, plug, voltage, and fuse. In case of problems, call Nespresso on 8001166612.
No coffee, no water.
- First use: fill water tank with warm water (max. 55° C) and run through machine.
- Water tank is empty. Fill water tank.
- Descale if necessary; see Descaling section.
Coffee comes out very slowly.
- Flow speed depends on the coffee variety.
- Descale if necessary; see Descaling section.
Coffee is not hot enough.
- Preheat cup.
- Descale if necessary; see Descaling section.
Capsule area is leaking (water in capsule container).
- Position capsule correctly. If leakages occur, call Nespresso on 8001166612.
No coffee, just water runs out (despite inserted capsule).
- Call Nespresso on 8001166612.
Irregular blinking.
- Send the machine to the repair center or call Nespresso on 8001166612.
All 3 beverage buttons are blinking fast.
- This means the machine is overheating or in an environment below 0°C. Please wait for all buttons to stop blinking, this will take a few minutes. During this time the machine cannot be used.
- If the problem persists, call Nespresso on 8001166612.
Descaling alert blinking (descaling alert level 1).
- The machine triggers the descaling alert according to the number of beverages consumed. Descale the machine.
Descaling alert steady light (descaling alert level 2).
- The machine triggers the descaling alert according to the number of beverages consumed. Descale the machine immediately to avoid issues with machine performance and coffee quality.
