First use
- Please follow the instructions below or watch the video.
- Plug the machine directly into 220 volt power outlet.
- Turn the machine ON by pressing the power button.
- Tap to select your language.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to set up your machine. The first use cycle is to rinse the machine and prime the heating system.
- Follow the on-screen Quick Start Guide. Water Hardness can be manually set or the default can be used. The setting can be adjusted in the Menu.
- To turn your machine OFF, press the Power button. Any drink recipe can be interrupted by turning the machine off.

- Please follow the instructions below or watch the video.
- Clean the steam wand: complete daily to clean steam paths, steam wand and prevent blockages.
- Rinse the steam wand: use as required to clear any blockages that may occur in the steam wand.
- Descaling: removes any scale build-up.
- Water hardness: resets the water hardness level.
- Rinse cycle: when the machine hasn’t been used for an extended period of time.
- Empty cycle: when storing machine for a period of non-use or for frost protection.
- Quick start guide: read the "quick start guide" again.
- Language: to change the language of the machine.
- Factory reset: erases all settings and reprograms the unit to factory settings.

- Drink menu: swipe up and down on the touch screen to navigate the menu.
Hot water: tap to manually start and stop.
Maximum 200 ml (6.5 fl. oz). - Drink confirmation: tap the screen to select.

- Fill the water tank with potable water.
- Turn the machine ON by pressing the power button.
- Place a cup under the coffee outlet. Use the cup support if required. PUSH the cup support to unlock.
- Lift the Lever, insert a capsule and close the lever.
- Select drink from the menu. You can adjust the coffee volume.
- Confirm your selection.
- Press start. Coffe is now running.
- Drink complete: the coffee will stop flowing automatically. Alternatively, tap the icon to interrupt the process.
Making milk coffee

- Please follow the instructions below or watch the video.
- Fill the water tank with potable water.
- Turn the machine ON by pressing the power button.
- Place a cup under the coffee outlet. Use the cup support if required. PUSH the cup support to unlock.
- Lift the Lever, insert a capsule and close the lever.
- Fill the milk jug with enough fresh cold milk. Minimum and maximum levels are marked on the inside and outside of the milk jug.
You will find our recommended volumes for each recipe in the user menual. - Lift the steam wand & position in the centre of the milk jug.
- Ensure the milk jug is making contact with the temperature sensor located in the drip tray.
- Select drink from the menu. You can adjust the coffee volume or milk temperature.
- Confirm your selection.
- Press start. Coffe extraction and milk texturing are now running.
- Drink complete: the coffee will stop flowing automatically. Alternatively, tap the icon to interrupt the process.
- When milk frothing is complete, lift the steam wand, wipe with a clean damp cloth.
- Pour milk into your coffee to finish the drink.

- Adjust coffee volume: slide the circle up and down the bar to adjust. The notch on the bar indicates the default drink setting.
- Adjust milk froth level: tap (+) to save your custom drink settings. Your custom drink will appear in the drinks menu.
- Adjust milk temperature.
Daily cleaning

- Please follow the instructions below or watch the video.
- Select "Clean Steam Wand" from the MENU and follow the instructions on the screen.
- Empty the drip tray and capsule container every day. Remove and clean the cup support and wipe inside the machine. Remove and clean the water tank with an odourless detergent and rinse with warm water.
- Rinse and dry the milk jug after each use. If required, use a mild detergent.
- Dry all parts with a soft clean cloth and reassemble machine. Wipe the coffee outlet and machine regularly with a clean damp cloth.
Descaling
Descaling
- Navigate in the menu.
- Select DESCALE.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
Screen/Buttons are not lit.
- Machine turns OFF automatically.
- Press Power button to turn the machine ON.
- Check the mains, plug, voltage, and fuse.
No coffee, no water, unusual coffee flow.
- Check if the water tank is correctly positioned, if empty, fill with potable water.
- Descale if necessary; see Descaling section.
Coffee is not hot enough.
- Preheat cup using the hot water button.
- Descale the machine, if necessary.
No steam or hot water
- Machine is OFF. Press the POWER button to turn the machine ON.
- Check the outlet: plug, voltage, fuse.
The capsule lever does not close completely.
- Empty the capsule container.
- Check that no capsule is blocked inside the machine. (Note: do not put the finger inside the machine).
Leakage (water under the machine).
- Empty drip tray if full.
- Check drip tray is securely inserted.
- If problem persists, call Nespresso on 8001166612.
No coffee flow, water goes directly into the capsule bucket (despite inserted capsule).
- Ensure capsule lever is closed.
- Empty capsule bucket and check that no capsule is blocked inside the machine. (NOTE: do not put finger inside the machine) If problem persists, call Nespresso on 8001166612.
Colour display is dim and hard to see/read.
- Machine display dims automatically after 2 minutes of non use.
- See section "Energy Saving".
- Press Power button to turn the machine ON.
- Adjust the screen brightness setting. Navigate to Settings menu. Select Screen Brightness. Turn the dial and Select High.
The touchscreen is not working.
- Press the POWER button to turn the machine OFF. Press the POWER button again to turn the machine ON.
- If problem persists, call Nespresso on 8001166612.
Fill Water Tank alert remains on display (water tank is full).
- Check if the water tank is correctly positioned.
- If problem persists, call Nespresso on 8001166612.
The descale alert is displayed.
- Descale the machine.
- Navigate to the menu and delect Descale. Follow the instructions on the screen.
The machine is ON but has stopped working.
- Turn the machine OFF by holding down the Power button.
- Wait 60 minutes and press the POWER button to turn the machine ON.
- If problem persists, call Nespresso on 8001166612.
Quality of froth not up to standard.
- Be sure to use full fat milk or low fat milk at refrigerated temperature (about 4-6 °C / 39-43 F). For a better result, the milk must be newly opened.
- Check the milk froth setting.
- Use the milk jug provided.
- Clean both the milk jug and steam wand after each use.
- Complete the Steam Wand Cleaning Cycle. Navigate to the Menu and select "Clean Steam Wand", then follow the instructions on the screen.
Milk overflows.
- Fill jug with appropriate milk volume. DO NOT exceed the MAX level.
- The minimum and maximum levels are marked on the inside and outside of the jug.
- To avoid overflow, either reduce the initial volume of milk and/or reduce the froth level. This varies depending on milk type.
The steam is very wet.
- Use cold, potable water. Do not use highly filtered, demineralised or distilled water.
Milk temperature is too hot.
- Be sure to use the milk jug provided.
- Check the milk jug is positioned correctly on the milk jug temperature sensor.
- Check the temperture sensor in the drip tray is clean.
- Decrease the milk temperature setting.
Milk temperature is not hot enough
- Preheat cup.
- Use the milk jug provided.
- Check the milk jug is positioned on the milk jug temperature sensor.
- Increase the milk temperature setting.
- Check the steam tip for blockages.
Clean Steam Wand alert is displayed.
- Clean the Steam Wand.
- Navigate to Maintenance menu. Select Clean Steam Wand and follow the on-screen prompts.
